Built back in 1936, at the height of the Art Deco movement, Talladega’s Ritz Theatre is widely considered to be one of the best remaining examples of a 1930’s main street theatre. The façade of the theatre was painstakingly restored to its former glory in 1997, and reopened in 1998 as the principal performing arts theatre in East Central Alabama. The Theatre offers a varied annual calendar of live performance art including musical concerts, youth theatre and much more. Every December the Ritz stages the popular Polar Express, The Grinch and other children’s theatre classics. You can check their website for scheduled shows and buy your tickets online.
