Wig’s Wheels Bike Rentals was started by a man by the name of Patrick Wigley, who is known by most by the nickname Wig, a name he acquired from his time serving as a medic in the United States Army. Wig’s Wheels first opened in the downtown area of Anniston, Alabama in 2005. In addition to offering bicycles for rent, the shop also offers bicycle repairs. The shop also provides transportation to the Chief Ladiga Trail or to the Coldwater Mountain Trail, which features more than thirty-five miles of purpose-built trails for mountain biking less than three miles away from Wig’s Wheels.
