The Shambhala, located at PortAventura in Spain, takes its name from a region in the Himalayas that is completely inaccessible.

It is one of the tallest, fastest, and longest drop hypercoasters in Europe, with an initial drop of 256 feet and speeds that reach up to 83 mph.

A chain lift hill brings rider slowly to the summit, where they soon come crashing down again at a nearly 80-degree angle. Shambhala features turns, hills, a figure 8 feature, and even a splashdown as the ride dives beneath another coaster at the park.
