A gem and landmark of the Hudson Valley, the Historic Robert Jenkins House was constructed in 1811. It served as the home of Robert Jenkins, an influential and prominent figure in the city who was present at the city’s founding in 1785, and who served two terms as mayor. In 1895, the Hendrick Hudson Chapter took over the care of the historic home and regularly welcomes guests to explore its halls and hear the history of the Jenkins Family as well as the history of the city’s people. Guided tours of the Historic Robert Jenkins House are regularly held by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
