Covering nearly 200 lush acres, Longwood Gardens are a joy to behold at any time of the year. The gardens include open meadows, winding pathways, staggeringly beautiful formal gardens and intricate fountain systems.

The garden was originally started by Pierre S. du Pont in 1907, when he laid out the ever-popular Flower Garden Walk.

A conservatory was built in 1921 and the garden has gone from strength to strength since then. Today you will find several distinct “districts” within the garden, including a Lakes District, Fountain District, Meadow and Forest District and the Conservatory District.

The garden is home to more than 10,000 species of plants. You can download a mobile map to help you navigate the garden.
