Offering a wonderful way to escape the city for a back-to-nature weekend without the hassles usually associated with camping, Camp Karma presents their comfortable Glamping Tent. While you are spending the day hiking the Appalachian Trail or the Peaks of Otter, our staff has been at work setting up your tent. The tent can sleep up to 4 guests and comes equipped with camping cots, mattresses, utensils, wood and ice. You will need to bring your own sleeping bags and pillows as well as that juicy steak to cook on the BBQ grill. On-site activities include hiking and fishing and there are many other attractions within 10 miles of the campground.

8. Rock Tavern River Camp

Equally suited to a romantic couples’ weekend or a small-group celebration, the Rock Tavern River Camp offers an excellent destination for a glamping vacation alongside the beautiful Shenandoah River. The property boasts 6 widely-spaced yurts which can sleep between 2 and 7 people. The yurts are each equipped with large double beds (including linens and pillows), a leather futon and all the necessary equipment you need to put together a simple camping meal. Each yurt has an outdoor BBQ and a picnic table. The bathhouse (with hot showers) is located close by. Additional luxuries include a large TV, microwave and coffee maker. Spend your days exploring the river by kayak, float or canoe.
