The capital of Louisiana, Baton Rouge is much more than a place to base yourself when exploring nearby New Orleans. The city is an excellent destination in its own right; it boasts plenty of interesting museums, art galleries, and historical sites, and it has more than enough restaurants, bars, and shops to keep visitors entertained for weeks.
