McPherson Cellars Winery honors Texas wine pioneer Clinton McPherson, the founder of Llano Estacado Winery, which was one of Texas' first post-Prohibition wineries at its opening in 1976.
The Texas High Plains AVA winery is operated by McPherson's daughter Kim, housed within a 1930s-era converted Coca-Cola plant in downtown Lubbock.
Guests can sample the winery's excellent traditional wines, produced in varietals such as Sangiovese, Grenache Blanc, and Muscato. Wine tastings are offered Mondays through Saturdays during the afternoon and evening hours, along with guided tours led by wine experts. Local musicians are showcased regularly as part of Patio Night events, which also bring area food truck popups to the tasting room.
