The Children's Museum of the Brazos Valley initiative was started in 1995 by volunteers, led by Kellogg Foundation Fellow, Dr Dale Whittaker and his wife, Mary. They have moved a few times but are hoping to purchase their own premises in due course. They focus on learning through play and inspiring young minds by augmenting classroom learning with practical application.

Their interactive exhibits, science simulators and reading times are popular with families looking for things to do in Bryan. They cater for birthday parties and offer summer camps, dad and daughter dances and a ducky derby. Entrance is free on Sunday, thanks to sponsor donations.
