Opened in 2004, the Mayborn Museum Complex is a fascinating natural history museum located on the campus of Baylor University. Many of the permanent exhibits are in the form of walk-in dioramas; highlights include the Cabinet of Curiosities, filled with objects from the Strecker Museum, and an exhibit about the Waco Mammoth Site. The museum also boasts 16 themed discovery rooms designed for children, a 13-acre open-air historic village that was relocated from Liberty, Texas, and the Design Den, which allows visitors to create everything from model skyscrapers to scribble bots that can draw glow-in-the-dark designs.
