Situated entirely inside the Waco city limits, Lake Waco is a man-made reservoir that offers excellent recreational opportunities throughout the year. Boating is one of the most popular activities here; the lake has seven boat ramps, and a marina can be found in Airport Park on the north shore of the lake. There are also plenty of hiking and walking trails around the lake, particularly in Koehne Park, Airport Park, and Midway Park. Visitors who want to spend more time here can also choose to stay at one of the campsites, most of which come with water, dump stations, and electricity. In the evening, enjoy spectacular sunsets.
