Located in downtown Chattanooga, The Read House is a city landmark and an historic property that opened in 1872 and was then rebuilt in 1926. The Read House is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has some famous names on its list of guests, such as Winston Churchill, Oprah Winfrey, Gary Cooper, and Al Capone. This unique historic hotel has superbly decorated suites and rooms with the views of the city, elegant Drexel Heritage furniture, and modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, Wi-Fi, and high-quality linen. The hotel is one of very few that welcomes pets. The heated pool is perfect at the end of a busy day, and the onsite Starbucks can help busy guests replenish.
