Review:

Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial was built to honor the people who fought in the Battle of Lake Erie. Also known as the Battle of Put-In Bay, this War of 1812 conflict allowed the Americans to wrest control of Lake Erie from the British. Nearly 70 people died in the battle and close to 200 were wounded. The Perry's Victory Memorial celebrates the long-lasting peace between Britain, Canada, and the United States. A Doric column rising 352 feet over Lake Erie stands as a sign of that peaceful relationship.
