Art at the Hotel

The museum portion of the hotel includes rotating exhibitions by contemporary artists, and is open 24/7, with free access for the public.

Past and current exhibitions have included Queen City of the West, featuring work by Drew Heitzler, a series of Cincinnati images that explores the ideas of connectivity, history and culture.

Pop Stars! Popular Culture and Contemporary Art, explores the consumption of culture and the creation of a new, virtual mythology. Pop Stars! includes work by Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou, Carlos Aires, and Lisa Alonzo, among others. Visitors can pick up gifts and souvenirs at the museum’s gift shop, which can also be accessed online.

The hotel also features contemporary artwork throughout the facility, including the 8,000 square feet of exhibition, meeting and event space which can accommodate weddings, receptions, dinners, retreats, or eco-conscious events. Teleconferences can be held in the hotel’s state of the art conference room, which is equipped with Smartboards. The diverse spaces available can accommodate 10 to 350 people, and catering is available from the hotel’s restaurant Metropole.

Metropole highlights fare from the Ohio Valley region’s sustainable farmers and producers. Dishes are prepared in a unique, wood-burning fireplace – blending old world cooking techniques with contemporary cuisine. Samples from the ever changing menu include burnt carrot salad with avocado, pickled onion, feta, cilantro and toasted pumpkin seeds; the Metropole cheeseburger, served with red onion marmalade, smoked bleu, iceberg and dill aioli; dark chocolate crème brulee with shortbead, candied Fresno chilies and kumquats.

If you don’t want to leave the comfort of your room, Metropole also provides the hotel’s room service.

Open seasonally, the Cocktail Terrace, located on the hotel’s rooftop, affords a spectacular view of the city. The bar offers a rotating selection of craft beers, as well as unique cocktails such as the Oxy-Gin, a blend of gin, basil and simple syrup, the Johnny Rose, a combination of bourbon and strawberry coriander syrup, and the All the Way Mae, a mix of raspberry hibiscus tea and Prosecco.
