Expert guides show visitors the various types of rock that needed to be blasted to make the canal locks and several artifacts left behind by the men who built the tunnel. An eerie underground boat ride along the canal gives visitors a chance to see the working conditions for the builders of the canal and locks in the late 1800s.

Blackman Homestead Farm is a 160-acre family-owned and operated that has been producing high-quality fruits and specialty products for more than 150 years. Situated on the rolling hills of the Niagara Escarpment in Western New York, the working farm grows apples and other fruit, produces fresh-pressed apple cider and fruit butter, raises cattle for beef production, has an evergreen and deciduous tree nursery, and raises turkeys for Thanksgiving holiday. The farm offers a U-Pick fruit service where visitors can spend a day at the farm, picking their fruit and soaking up the beauty of the surrounding landscapes.

6. Niagara Landing Wine Cellars

Nestled beneath the Niagara Escarpment, Niagara Landing Wine Cellars is a family-owned vineyard and winery that produces award-winning wines from a selection of European varietals. 8. Niagara County Historic Society

The Niagara County Historic Society is headquartered in the Outwater Memorial Building on Niagara Street. This fine brick building dates back to 1863 and offers visitors a glimpse of the history of the Niagara area during the past 175 years. At this main building you can go on a nostalgic trip as you explore the Victorian Parlor, the Historic Pantry, the Civil War Room and the Old Toy Room. To complete your visit you can move on to the Erie Canal Discovery Center in Church Street to learn all about the construction and history of the Erie Canal and locks. Finally, the Bond House on Ontario Street is the oldest brick house in Lockport.

9. Kenan Center

The Kenan Center is a regional community center that offers a variety of arts, cultural, educational, and recreational programs. Set on 25 acres of beautiful landscapes in Lockport, the historic Kenan Center is named after its benefactor, William Rand Kenan, Jr., and is home to several institutions such as the Kenan House Gallery, the Kenan Center Arena, the Kenan Montessori Preschool, and the Taylor Theater. The 153-seat Taylor Theater presents a variety of shows throughout the year, and the Kenan Center Arena houses a variety of community-based sports and recreation programs. The center is surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens and grounds with century-old trees, lush perennial blooms, a fragrant herb garden, and a tranquil pond.
