The Bolton Historical Museum was established in 1971 by the Historical Society of the Town of Bolton. The Museum is occupying a former church, built in 1890 and extensively renovated and extended before it was deeded in 1967 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany to the Town of Bolton. The museum’s collection of artifacts covers 200 years of town history. It includes historical exhibits on local hotels, commercial and recreational boating, ice harvesting, famous resident artists and local farming. The museum’s mission is to educate local folks and visitors about the history of Bolton Landing, Lake George and the surrounding area. The museum sponsors a summer lecture series in cooperation with the Darrin Fresh Water Institute.
