The club has a reputation for superb conditions and great customer service and is today a premier golf destination for players of any level. Amherst is one of the small number of courses in the world to be certified as an Audubon International Golf Course. Ponemah Green Family Golf Center has an executive 9-hole golf course, putting/chipping green, lighted driving range, and practice bunkers, It also includes lighted 18-hole miniature golf course, making it fun place for the whole family.

3. Ponemah Bog Wildlife Sanctuary

The 75-acre Ponemah Bog Wildlife Sanctuary near Amherst, New Hampshire, has been protected by the Audubon Society of New Hampshire since 1979. The Sanctuary includes a three-acre pond surrounded by a floating sphagnum moss mat and by upland oak-pine woods. This bog has preserved, in its thick peat layers, pollen blown from the surrounding woods for thousands of years. The bog is home to hardy northern plants like spruce, as well as southern species including pitcher plants and sundew. Ponemah is also home to white pine, pitch pine, black spruce, and tamarack, a living museum of plants from distant environments and a fascinating outdoor classroom for botany and ecology of wetlands. There is a narrow boardwalk with spur trails to four viewing platforms.

4. Black Forest Cafe & Bakery

The Black Forest Cafe & Bakery is a homey eatery in Amherst, New Hampshire, offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch seven days a week. The cafe, called the Market Place, seats 20 and has relaxed, intimate atmosphere, great comfort foods, fresh pastries, pies, sandwiches, cookies, local craft beers, carefully selected wines and unique craft cocktails. All food is made from scratch, by hand, using fresh natural ingredients. There is a 24-seat lounge on the second floor, for guests ages 16 and up. The Wifi Spot has more tables and chairs, and guests can bring the food and drinks from downstairs to enjoy it in peace. Black Forest also includes a small gift shop that offers an eclectic selection of New Hampshire and New England gifts, wines, chocolates and seasonal items.

Smokehaus is a barbecue restaurant on Route 101in Amherst, New Hampshire. Cozy, friendly dining room offers plenty of seating but on warm and sunny days most guests prefer to sit on the charming porch or in the back, on one of picnic tables, under the colorful umbrellas. They serve traditional style barbeque slow cooked to perfection and served with seven homemade sides and cold local craft beer. They make their own rub and sauces daily and cook their meats on red oak flames and serve it every day until they run out. And although their smoker runs around the clock, they do run out. They serve several sandwich and dinner plate options. Plates can be ordered as combo meals with two or three meats, with two sides and bread. They offer pulled pork, pulled chicken, Angus beef brisket, chopped pork, half chicken, baby back ribs and hog wings.
