Squantum Point Park is a state public recreation area on the Squantum peninsula in North Quincy next to Marina Bay.

The beach is a mix of sand and rocks and is never crowded; although it is surprisingly close to Boston, the park is not easy to find and is only accessible by taking a network of narrow, confusing roads. However, the beach is very scenic and the views of the city are magnificent.

There is a half-mile long trail from the end of the parking lot leading to the northernmost part of the beach where you can let your dog have fun roaming around. The rest of the beach is full of shells whose sharp bits might hurt dogs’ paws.

Officially, dogs should be on a leash at Squantum Point Park , but as the beach is always deserted and there are no lifeguards or any facilities, nobody is enforcing the leash rule. Nevertheless, make sure you clean up after your dog.
