Long and spacious, Red River Beach is one of the most popular Harwich beaches. It is wide enough to allow some great Frisbee tossing. You can even bring your kayak or canoe for a ride – there is a boat ramp at the end of the parking lot. The warm water of Nantucket Sound and moderate surf with small waves make this beach great for swimming as well as learning to boogieboard, especially for kids. There are a few rock jetties jutting out, and the beach is scattered with plenty of colorful shells you can collect as you stroll along the shore.
Dogs are allowed with or without a leash on Red River Beach during the off season.
