Aubrey Vineyards offers the Napa-style wines of California within the “Heart of the Midwest.” The vineyard got its start in 2010 when the owners realized after their trip to Napa that their nearly two hundred acres of land in Overland Park could be used for growing grapes, making wines, and hosting events. Visitors can stop by the tasting room at Aubrey Vineyards to purchase bottles of wine and sample free wine tastings. The wine tasting experience is designed for everyone to be able to have an enjoyable experience, from novice wine drinkers to more experienced wine enthusiasts.

Barley Bus Tours was formed by Jake Morgan and Todd Abrams, two lifelong friends and native residents of Kansas City. The Belvoir Winery and Inn, while not technically in the state of Kansas, is located close enough to Kansas, situated just outside of Kansas City. The Belvoir Winery offers free tastings of each one of the wines it produces, wine the feature grapes grown locally in Missouri, offering a taste of what the state of Missouri has to offer in terms of vineyards. The winery offers whites, reds, and specialty wines, such as sweet rosé and dessert wine. The Inn at the Belvoir Winery is made up of eight guest suites, as well as a spacious bridal suite.

Greg and Charlee Davenport, owners of the Davenport Orchards & Winery first began making wine commercially in August of 1997. Their intention is to produce good wine from fruit grown in Kansas, with a minimal amount of intervention, in order to let the wine express itself freely. Since the wines at the Davenport Winery are made fresh from the Kansas grown grapes and other fruit, the availability of specific wines can vary. Sweet fruit wines produced at the Davenport Orchards and Winery include rhubarb, Poire made from pears, Peche made from peaches, blackberry, and apple.

Nestled within the rolling hills in northeastern Kansas on top of a glacial moraine hill, the winery makes wines from grapes grown on the estate. The Jefferson Hill Vineyard and Guest House offers wine tastings on the weekends from noon until 6:00pm, tours of the vineyard by appointment, overnight accommodations, and dining by reservation at the Café de Vine. The entertainment room and lodging are on the second floor of the winery.

The KC Wine Co is a winery and vineyard that have become very popular as a venue for special events, particularly for weddings. Tours of the vineyard can be arranged, covering seven acres of grape vines located in the heart of Kansas’ Johnson County. The winery showcases handcrafted wines made with “MidWest Pride.” Guests are welcome to come by for a tasting of the wines, as the KC Wine Co. is open Fridays from 3:00pm until 8:00pm, as well as on Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 6:00pm. No pets or outside food are allowed on the grounds.
