The Midway Village Museum collects, preserves, and interprets the history of the Rockford Region and showcases and explores American life during the Victorian era. Nestled among beautiful old trees on a 148-acre campus in Rockford, the museum consists of a Victorian-era Village featuring 26 historical buildings decorated with original artifacts objects, several beautifully manicured 19th-century gardens, and a Main Museum Center, both of which are within walking distance of each on the campus. Visitors can enjoy guided tours led by friendly interpreters in authentic period dress, who lead them through permanent state-of-the-art exhibits. The Midway Village Museum hosts several special events throughout the year.
