Located in Grant Park in downtown Chicago, the Art Institute of Chicago is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the United States that houses a collection that spans centuries and the globe. Founded in 1879, the world-class art gallery features a permanent collection of nearly 300,000 works that includes iconic works by master artists such as Grant Wood's American Gothic, Pablo Picasso's The Old Guitarist, Georges Seurat's A Sunday on La Grande Jatte, and Edward Hopper's Nighthawks.
