The park attracts all kinds of outdoor enthusiasts such as hikers, bicyclers, anglers, hunters, canoeists, and campers, and rightly so because it is filled with stunning features and facilities. The park envelopes both sides of the Kankakee River, which is perfect for fishing for channel catfish, smallmouth bass, Northern pike, and walleye. There are seasonal hunting programs as well which allow for upland game hunting and archery deer hunting.
