The Snowdon Mountain Railway (SMR) is a 4.7-mile-long tourist railway track that transports visitors from Llanberis to the summit of the highest peak in Wales, Snowdon. SMR has been in operation for over a hundred years and is the only rack and pinion railway in the UK. The railway is closed from November to mid-March, but the rest of the year, visitors can explore the historic “rooftop of Wales”.
