Visitors are invited to come and get an insight into the lives of the Pueblo people who inhabited this area of Tijeras more than 700 years ago. The archaeological site was excavated between 1974 and 1976 and many structures, artifacts and skeletal remains were uncovered.

The site was then backfilled to prevent looters helping themselves to precious relics. Today you can explore the site along a one-third mile gravel trail, assisted by various illustrated signs. Before setting off you can see a concept model of the pueblo to help you find your bearings. There is a small museum at the top of the site, open most weekends and seasonally by appointment.
