Standing Stone State Rustic Park is nestled within the Cumberland Plateau’s Standing Stone State Forest near Hilham, Tennessee. The park gets its name from the massive rock that stands upright twelve feet high on a sandstone ledge, named appropriately as the “Standing Stone.”
This stone supposedly acted as the boundary line between two different Indian nations. When it originally fell, a portion was set on an improvised monument in order to preserve it. The campground consists of almost forty campsites with electricity, water, picnic table, and grill. There are also over eight miles of hiking trails throughout the park.
