Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park is one of Big Sur's most beautiful natural wonders, nicknamed "Mini Yosemite" for its stunning forest hiking trails. The 1,000-acre park, which is located on the banks of the beautiful Big Sur River, is named in honor of area pioneer John Pfeiffer and is known throughout California for its stunning redwood forests on the slopes of the Santa Lucia Mountain range. Excellent outdoor recreational opportunities abound, including chances for hiking along scenic hiking trails that showcase native wildlife like bobcats, black-tailed deer, and belted kingfishers. Visitors can stay overnight at the park's spacious campground, which offers car camper and RV sites and access to amenities like modern bathhouses and coin-operated showers. Pets are welcome at the campground on leashes at all times.
