Black Rock Campground is a gorgeous Yucca Valley campground located within spectacular Joshua Tree National Park, nestled within one of the nation's densest Joshua tree forests. The campground is named for its historical graphite deposits, which were mined by area indigenous groups and settlers during the 17th century. It is one of four campgrounds located within the national park, open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis between mid-June and August. High-elevation campsites shield visitors from high summer desert temperatures, set at an elevation of more than 4,000 feet above sea level. 100 individual campsites are offered at the campground, welcoming two-legged and four-legged campers alike.
