Emma Wood State Beach is a lovely California state beach in the city of Venture, located on the Santa Barbara Channel on the banks of the beautiful Ventura River. The beach is named in honor of pioneer-era rancher Emma Wood Grubb and is operated as a public municipal beach, overseen in conjunction with adjacent Seaside Wilderness Park. Visitors can enjoy prime opportunities for swimming, fishing, and surfing throughout the year or explore historic landmarks, including remains from a World War II-era artillery emplacement. The park's scenic Ocean's Edge Trail showcases amazing waterfront views, offering some of the best regional chances to spot dolphins in season. Primitive campground areas can accommodate RVs, tents, and trailers. Dogs are permitted within campground areas on leashes no longer than six feet.
