Anastasia State Park is a lovely 1,600-acre state park on Florida's gorgeous Anastasia Island, located just across Matanzas Bay from downtown St. Augustine. The Atlantic Ocean shoreline park is known for its diverse native wildlife within its gorgeous tidal salt marsh, marine and upland hammock, and protected beachfront habitat areas. Significant archaeological remains are preserved at the park, including the National Register of Historic Places-listed Old Spanish Coquina Quarries, which were used to construct St. Augustine's Castillo de San Marcos. Visitors can enjoy delightful opportunities for outdoor recreational activities throughout the year, including chances for swimming, kayaking, sailboarding, hiking, and surfing. 139 dog-friendly visitor campsites can be rented for overnight stay, accommodating tents, trailers, and RVs up to 40 feet.
