In 1830, Queen Victoria was still Princess Victoria; in fact, she was only 11 years old and wouldn’t become queen for another seven years. But it didn’t stop her from opening Royal Victoria Park in Bath—it was the first park ever to be named for her, and to this day it contains an obelisk dedicated to the famous monarch. Royal Victoria Park is a beautiful and peaceful place to spend some time, containing 57 acres of green lawns, stately trees, and gorgeous seasonal botanical gardens. There is also the Great Dell Aerial Walkway, which allows visitors to stroll amongst the trees on a well-maintained wooden boardwalk.
