Bodega Bay’s Bodega Dunes beach is located within the Sonoma Coast State Park. The quiet, vast beach is buffered by coastal dunes and is the perfect beach-combing destination. Take a long walk to the remote Mussels Point or head north to the South Salmon Creek Beach. Enjoy the many trails throughout the dunes, some of which are open to horseback riding. Facilities include a day use parking lot, overnight campground, restrooms, BBQs and picnic tables. From the parking lot, an accessible boardwalk leads to a viewing platform over the ocean. The dunes are a refuge for the Western Snowy Plover, listed as federally threatened due to loss of habitat.
