Review & FAQ:
The Tuckahoe River weaves through a salt marsh, six impoundments, and tidal creeks, making its way to Great Egg Harbor River and Bay. This area has an eight-mile, self-guided driving tour where visitors drive along a sandy gravel road among the impoundments, a hardwood swamp, and a pine-oak forest called Pine Barrens.
It’s a bird watcher’s paradise due to the amazing diversity of birds and waterfowl the area supports. There are numerous pull-outs along the way that offer visitors hiking opportunities. There are no facilities here, but there is a boat ramp for large and small boats as well as a parking lot.
