Shenandoah National Park is a long, narrow park that encompasses part of the Blue Ridge mountains. Bordered by the rolling hills of the Virginia Piedmont as well as by the Shenandoah River and Valley, the park is home to a number of waterfalls and offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, picnicking, and backcountry camping.

One of the most popular features of Shenandoah National Park is the scenic Skyline Drive, a 105-mile-long road that runs along the entire length of the park. Two Visitor Centers are located on Skyline Drive, and both feature informational exhibits, public washrooms, and bookstores.
