The Maryland State House in Annapolis dates back to 1779, and is the oldest state capitol still in continuous legislative use. Visitors are welcome every day between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m, with the exception of Christmas and New Year’s Day when the building is closed.

Visitors can obtain the information necessary to conduct a self-guided tour at The Office of Interpretation which is located on the first floor. Guests can arrange specialized guided tours of the building by appointment. There is no admission fee and tours are free of charge, but donations are gladly accepted.
