Creature Comforts Downtown Taproom and Brewery was the vision of Twain’s Billiards and Tap head brewer David Stein and SweetWater Brewing Company brewer Adam Beauchamp and is dedicated to driving creativity in the craft brewing industry through a scientifically-based focus on specialty brews and flavor innovation. The brewery has received awards from the Athens Heritage Foundation for its rehabilitation of its 1940s warehouse facility, which offers 13,000 square feet of tap room and brewing space. Year-round offerings by the brewery include its Bibo pilsner, its Tropicália American IPA, its Amber-aged French Oak Reclaimed Rye, and its Athena Berliner weisse. Creature Comforts has four seasonal offerings: Cosmik Debris, Koko Buni, Table Beer, and Automatic.

Scofflaw Brewing Co. was the vision of Matt Shirah and Travis Herman, who worked together as homebrewers until opening an 18,000-square-foot brewery in Atlanta’s Westside in 2017. The brewery, which is named after the nickname for Prohibition-era brewers who defied the country’s alcohol laws, emphasizes flavorful IPA and stout offerings with uniquely high alcohol contents. Year-round offerings include the West Coast-style Westside IPA, the Double Jeopardy imperial IPA, the tropical-flavored Hooligan IPA, and the POG Basement underground-style brew, a variation of the brewers’ original 19% ABV homebrew recipe. Daily tastings and tours are offered at the brewery’s main location, along with six pack sales and to-go growler fills.

Arches Brewing was the vision of five homebrewers in Hapeville, with its name paying homage to the brick arches of the Colonial-style home the business began in. Today, the brewery is located near Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport and strives to blend modern and old-world brewing practices, with a focus on crafting European-inspired ales and lagers and creative small batch brews made from high-quality spring water. Four year-round brews are offered, including the brewery’s flagship Unseasonal Lager, an uncommon simple grain lager brewed to be highly drinkable in any season. Limited-release seasonal beers follow a European brewing calendar and include the Five Week Sail Baltic porter, the German-style Mystik Bock, and the Ennoblement Imperial pilsner. The brewery’s tasting room is open to the public Tuesdays through Fridays and welcomes children and well-behaved pets.

Wild Heaven Beer was founded by Eric Johnson and Nick Purdy and offers world-class beers designed following European brewing traditions with uniquely American twists. All of the brewery’s beers follow a strict all-grain, no adjunct-sugar policy to create richer, more unique flavors without the addition of excess alcohol. Standard year-round offerings include the brewery’s Emergency Drinking Beer pilsner-style session ale, Bestie pub ale, Ode to Mercy nitro coffee brown ale, and Wise Blood, Altair, and Goodvice IPAs. Belgian-style and barrel-aged sour beers are also emphasized, including the White Blackbird saison, the Invocation golden ale, and Emmylou, a Bordeaux barrel-aged golden ale highlighting cantaloupe, gooseberry, and persimmon notes. The brewery’s tap room is open for tastings and tours Wednesdays through Sundays.

Service Brewing Co. was founded by partners Kevin Ryan and Meredith Sutton, who began homebrewing after a Valentine’s Day gift sparked a joint interest in not just consuming craft beer but creating it. The brewery was launched in 2014 and is committed to raising funds through proceed donations for local and national charities aiding veterans and first responders. Tastings and tours are available at the brewery’s tap room Wednesdays through Saturdays, which allows well-behaved pets on leashes. Year-round beer offerings include the brewery’s Ground Pounder pale ale, Compass Rose IPA, Rally Point Bohemian-style pilsner, Scouts Out honey saison, and Battlewagon double IPA. A variety of seasonal, experimental, and one-off beers are also offered on a rotating basis.

BlueTarp Brewing Co. is Decatur’s first full-scale brewery, originally opened to the public in December of 2012. The company’s brews are available at their tasting room, which is open for tastings and tours on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and are tapped at a number of bars, restaurants, and growler fill stations throughout the greater Atlanta area. Popular beers include the brewery’s Last Place Imperial stout, Belgian-style That’s What She Saison, Funk Weisse Berliner weisse, Tropic Thunder Session IPA, and Novemberfest Marzen. Eagle Creek Brewing Company is Statesboro’s only craft brewery, opened in 2013 by Franklin Dismuke. Since 2016, the brewery has operated as a brewpub, serving a variety of creative American bar fare, including pulled pork sandwiches, quesadillas, sliders, and waffle fries. Year-round and seasonal brew offerings include the brewery’s Georgia Tea Party sweet tea Amber ale, Grass Roots hefeweizen, Low Country pale ale, and River Street praline brown ale. The brewery’s limited-release Gas Light series also offers unconventional one-off weekly brews focusing on seasonal ingredients and creative brewing techniques. Jekyll Brewing carries on the longstanding tradition of beer brewing on Jekyll Island, which was the site of the American South’s first brewery in 1738. The Alpharetta brewery was opened by Michael Lundmark and Josh Rachel and focuses on handcrafted brews covering the spectrum of global brewing styles. Core year-round brews include the brewery’s Hop Dang Diggity and Southern Juice Southern-style IPAs, its Big Creek Kolsch, its Cooter Brown American brown ale, and its ‘Merican Amber ale. Drafts are served at the brewery’s taproom Tuesdays through Sundays, with tours operating every half hour to hour.
