Beautiful 16.5-acre Clarence S. Higgs Memorial Beach Park is located on the Atlantic Ocean next to the Waldorf Astoria’s Casa Marina Resort in Key West. The park is known for its lovely sandy beach, lush vegetation, and a range of interesting attractions. Within the park is a Civil War era fort that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, an African refugee burial ground, the only underwater marine park in the country accessible from shore, and access to the Florida Overseas Heritage Trail. A portion of the beach is fenced and designated as a dog park. There are separate areas for small and large dogs.
