Fort Lauderdale Historical Society & Museum operates the Old Fort Lauderdale Village in Riverwalk Park to preserve and exhibit the rich history of Broward County. The village includes Broward County’s oldest remaining hotel, the New River Inn, which houses the museum; the Hoch Heritage Library & Research Center, which houses the historic collection and gift shop; and four other turn-of-the-century buildings restored to display Fort Lauderdale’s beginnings.

The museum hosts special events, exhibits, and lectures throughout the year, and interactive educational programs and school tours can be arranged. Visitors can choose to go on the informative walking tour the first Sunday of October – May.
