Review:

The town of Alexandria is located on the south banks of the Red River in central Louisiana. It is home to several cultural attractions, including the Arna Bontemps African American Museum. The museum is the birthplace of Arna Bontemps, which exists as a home museum displaying the works of Mr. Arna Bontemps as well as historical photographs and other artifacts.

The Louisiana History Museum is also located in Alexandria and features interesting displays related to local and state history. Families with children and animal lovers should make sure to visit the Alexandria Zoological Park, which is home to many species of wildlife in free-roaming, naturalistic habitats.
