The Barnum Museum in Bridgeport celebrates the life and works of American visionary entrepreneur and entertainer P. T. Barnum. Housed in a historic building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum has an extensive collection of more than 60,000 artifacts relating to Barnum, the town of Bridgeport, and 19th century America. The museum’s signature exhibit, ‘Barnum’s World of Wonders,’ showcases an array of objects and items from his life works, including miniature carriages, the Centaur of Tymphi, mini furniture from General Tom Thumb, and William Brinley’s famous miniature circus. The museum offers docent-led tours on Thursdays and Fridays.
