Review:

The National Helicopter Museum celebrates the history of the helicopter and aviation industry around Stratford. Founded by Dr. Raymond Jankowich and Robert McCloud in 1983, the museum is housed in the eastbound railroad station building of Metro-North Railroad’s Stratford station and features a vast collection of aviation-related images and objects. Visitors can learn about the development of the rotary-wing from its humble beginnings as a boomerang to the advanced technology of today, and explore the numerous displays of gas turbine engines, models of aircraft, and a working cockpit. Several helicopters are on display at the museum, including aircraft by Boeing, Bell, Sikorsky, and Kaman.
