You can take a guy out of Philadelphia but you can’t take Philadelphia out of him. When Shem Adams moved out of Philly to Connecticut, he missed his proper Philly steak sandwiches so much that he decided that he had to make them himself. He opened a small, unpretentious shop in Norwich and started churning out such amazing concoctions that his Phillys were declared the best sandwiches in the country several years in a row. The Doctor is just one of his designer cheesesteak options: Minced, all-star rib eye steak, chopped Spanish onions, and All-American Cheese Whiz in a Philly roll. They also serve great hoagies, fries, and snacks.
