TK's American Cafe is the oldest continually-operating tavern in Danbury, originally opened in 1933 as Bennie Pane's Stone Grill. The restaurant, which changed hands several times throughout the 20th century, has been operated under its current name since its purchase by owner Tom Kennedy in 1990. Since 1991, it has been legendary in the region for its famed Tuesday Wing Nights, serving up more than 15,000 chicken wings each week. Diners can enjoy mild and hot wings in more than 75 flavors, ranging from salt and vinegar, sweet Thai chili, or honey teriyaki to Cajun ranch, tequila-infused Caribbean, or the restaurant's infamous Bushwacker extra hot wings. A vast selection of shareable bar appetizers are also served up, along with baskets of fries and an assortment of clever burgers and sandwiches. Regional and national beers are served up on tap, including local Connecticut craft brews.
