The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum is a non-collecting contemporary art museum dedicated solely to the exhibition of contemporary art. Founded in 1964 by Larry Aldrich with the aim of becoming one of the first contemporary art museums in the country, the museum is based in an 18th-century former church and general store known as "Old Hundred" which Aldrich bought and converted it into the Larry Aldrich Museum. The Aldrich Museum features works by national and international emerging and mid-career artists, including Jasper Johns, Frank Stella, Robert Rauschenberg, and Cy Twombly. The Aldrich Museum has several educational programs for visitors of all ages.
