The Black Creek Pioneer Village brings the past to life for visitors of all ages. The village hopes to help visitors gain a clear picture of what early life in Ontario was like for the people who lived 150 years ago.
Visitors can explore this working village complete with a mill, a school, a church, various homes, and even a blacksmith shop all complete with artifacts and villagers dressed in accurate time-period clothing. This village was most likely established between 1790 and 1860 and is a great representation of Canada’s rural heritage.

Things to Do:
Archery Dodgeball:Visitors can attend an exciting game of archery dodgeball! Grab a mask, bow, arrows, and armor and try to be the last one standing! The rules of dodgeball with the exciting of shooting bows and arrows. Games last for an hour and a half, are for guests ages 12 and older and must be booked ahead of time.
Beer Tastings:There is a brewery on site at the Black Creek Pioneer Village with tastings held daily for visitors. Not only is there delicious beer to taste, there is plenty to learn as well. A resident beer expert is on sight to teach visitors about how beer was brewed during the time and the brewery is the only historical functioning brewery in the entire province.
Axe Throwing:Visitors can bring their friends and learn how to throw axes, tomahawks, and hatchets at a target with the help of coaches. This is for visitors over the age of 16 and can be done competitively. The session lasts between 90 and 120 minutes and must be booked ahead of time.
Escape Games:Visitors can book an escape game for them and their group at the Black Creek Pioneer Village. Follow a series of clues, solve fascinating puzzles, and escape the village before time is up! This must be booked ahead of time.

Howling Hootenanny & Ghost Walks:Every October, the Black Creek Pioneer Village hosts at least a week of fall and Halloween themed activities for members of the entire family. For those brave souls who want a bit scarier experience, there are also haunted ghost walks held in the evenings around Halloween.
