At the Yosemite Climbing Museum and Gallery in Mariposa, climbing enthusiasts can enjoy learning more about the history of their hobby. The museum brings together a treasure-trove of historic climbing artifacts, tools, photographs and memorabilia which document and showcase the history of climbing in Yosemite. Here you will be able to see how climbing kit has evolved over the years from very basic apparatus to the state-of-the-art equipment that today’s climbers have the pleasure of using. The museum is the brain-child of Ken Yager, who worked as a Yosemite Mountain Guide for more than 11 years and who has personally collected many of the articles on display.
