Located at the University of Kansas, the Spencer Museum of Art is an art museum located on the university’s main campus in Lawrence, Kansas. The museum houses a significant collection of almost 36,000 artworks and artifacts across a range of media that spans the history of American and European art from ancient to contemporary.
Notable holdings of the museum include European and American paintings, prints, and sculpture; East Asian and medieval art; 20th century Chinese painting; Japanese Edo painting and prints; photography; and an ethnographic collection of more than 10,000 Australian, African, Native American, and Latin American works.
