Located in and managed by the Oberlin College in Ohio, the Allen Memorial Art Museum (AMAM) is a teaching museum for the college and a valuable cultural resource for the community. Founded in 1917 by Dr. Dudley Peter Allen, the museum’s collection features over 14,000 works of art, ranging from 17th century Dutch and Flemish art and 19th and early 20th century European and contemporary American art to Asian, American and European works on paper. Housed in an impressive Italian Renaissance-style building, the museum holdings also feature works by world-renowned artists such as Picasso, Renoir, and Salvador Dali.
