A 6.6-mile kayak run embarks from the park, traveling from the Middle Fork River to its confluence with the nearby Tygart Valley and Buckhannon Rivers. Visitors can hike throughout the park's lovely forested terrain or enjoy amazing photo opportunities at scenic Alum Cave. 67 campsites are available for overnight camping, along with accessible picnic areas and a scenic boardwalk.

C.J. Maggie's is a hip pizza joint in downtown Buckhannon, originally opened in 1992 by Jeannie and CJ Rylands after the closure of the city's beloved Cheshire Cat Restaurant. The restaurant now operates two locations throughout West Virginia, including a second location in Elkins. Delicious pizzas are crafted in the restaurant's wood-fired oven, topped with ingredients prepared in house each day. Diners can design their own custom pizzas or choose from gourmet delicacies such as Cuban chicken, mushroom and gouda, Thai chicken, and spinach and ricotta.
