Formerly known as the Constable Ice Storage, the Icehouse is found within Phoenix, Arizona and was originally used as an icehouse in its most traditional sense, where 300-pound ice blocks were manufactured for the food industry to keep them cold as they are shipped to the eastern parts of the United States. Later on, the place was used as storage for evidence gathered by the police. It wasn’t until 1990 when helen Hestenes, together with David Therrien, decided to transform the icehouse into a venue for exhibiting and exploring art forms, focusing on large scale art, experimentation, installation and educating the community.

As an events venue, the Icehouse was really meant to be able to accommodate all kinds of occasions, may it be weddings, birthdays, corporate or social gatherings, and more. The venue can also be adjusted to accommodate kinds of themes and sizes. The recent renovations however, have allowed this venue to maintain its classic rugged look while having a few modern comforts and innovations added. This makes the Icehouse a pretty interesting venue to get married.

Office Hours

The Icehouse is open every day from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. During this time, you can get a tour of the venue yourself.

The Venue

The Icehouse features two major venues with a total capacity of 1,000 people, which means that it’s ready to take on even the grandest of wedding celebrations while still being able to make adjustments to accommodate the more intimate ones. The venues are primarily indoor, which is good if you don’t want the weather to get in the way of your big day.

The place is run by a staff that’s ready to make the necessary adjustments to make your dream wedding possible. This is impressive, considering that the venue is primarily intended to be an art gallery, yet they can transform the venue into almost any wedding venue that your creativity can suggest.

And since it’s located conveniently within Phoenix, it’s easy to find and quite accessible to those who will be coming from the airport. This makes it easier for your guests who will be coming from out of town. Moreover, the Icehouse is quite close to a number of hotels and restaurants.
